Few had informed me that To-Do List gadget all of a sudden stopped working. Google had stopped supporting inlining feature (which the gadget uses) but assured that the existing gadgets should not be affected.  Unfortunately, it has affected To-do List gadget for few users.   It is unfortunately beyond my control.

The good news is - ALL YOUR DATA IS SAFE within the gadget itself.   so DONOT PANIC.  and DONOT delete the gadget. If you delete it, then you will lose ALL your data.

I have outlined the steps on how to retrieve your data very easily and use other alternative gadgets I have developed.

  1. Assuming you had entered your todo  and it looked previously like below:
  2. With this issue, the gadget should look like below:
  3. Right click on this gadget and say “View Source”. It should open a notepad with a lot of contents.
  4. Search for “screeperzone” and around that text, you should see a lot of “%22″ wherein you will see your todo lists. Unfortunately it is a little messy to extract one by one.
  5.   I have other alternatives for the same todo list gadget - including for Vista and Netvibes.  Please visit this link for the alternatives.

Hi, I followed the instructions, but didn’t see a bunch of ” as it showed in step 4.

I didn’t delete the gadget, but I had re-arranged my igoogle homepage. Do you suppose that would have messed it up?

Data is gone, no “inlineing” error message…just blank. No info in source code. Went on vacation and came back to a blank page.
